February 2023 Portfolio Update

Posted on March 5, 2023 by invspot

How quick time goes by, can’t believe we are already into March of 2023. Spring Training has begun and the boys of summer will start playing games that count before we know it.

Dividends Received

The middle month of the quarter is always the lowest as far as dividends received and this month was no different. I don’t chase yield and I’m not about to try and selectively pick companies to balance out my payouts. This month the portfolio generated $146.63 from 10 holdings with the largest payout coming from Texas Instruments .

My YOY monthly numbers are skewed due to moving some positions around and this makes the below chart seem like my payments are dropping. Overall my quarterly numbers will tell a different story and show growth. Some of my changes included buying into positions that paid on quarter ending months. As stated earlier, I’m not too focused on when my dividends are received. I’m not going to invest with company XYZ just because it pays out in Feb, May etc. A steep drop of 30% compared to 2022 but Q1 is on track to surpass last years figures.

Monthly Purchases

I continue with my weekly investments and this month I added to these positions:

1 Share of JPM
5 Shares of ABT
2 Shares of JNJ
2 Shares of BAM
1 Share of KR

Total investment of $1099.45 adding $26.84 in forward dividend payments.

Dividend Increases

February was a great month for increases, so many that it has it’s own blog post 10 increases! These ten bumps in payout reflected a $57.54 in PADI. My PADI in the month of February increased twice as much as the capital I invested during the month. No extra money added to my account, no purchasing more shares, just holding the company stock.

I also hold INTC which declared a dividend cut of 65% a big cut that stings but doesn’t slow me down. Being diversified helps ease the blow of dividend cuts when they happen. Now I will evaluate if I want to continue being invested with them or close my position and reinvest that money.

PADI is at $5233.09 for an average of $436 per month.

Non Dividend

The weekly GOOG investment continued with 2 shares purchased during the month at a total cost of $202.79. I’m currently at 50 shares and will pause buying more unless there is a significant dip. I will focus using the extra money into more of my dividend positions.

Options Income

For February I was able to generate $420 in options income and I invested that into:

8 Shares of O
3 Shares of VICI

Which brings in an additional $29.11 in PADI

Wrapping it up!

With this monthly investments we added a total of $113.49 to future dividends and my projected PADI stands at $5233.09 or $436 a month.
