I’m a little late posting my October update as work and personal life has been extremely busy, mixed in with a little planned get away.
October was a nice rebound month for the market with the Dow closing at 32,732 up 12.24% for the month and the S&P closing at 3871.98 up 7.4%. Is it the end of the bear market? Hard to predict but inflation is still at elevated levels and interest rates keep rising to combat the inflation, this could be a blip in the radar, only time will tell. I just keep looking forward and continue to invest in good times and bad.
I was paid $211.85 in dividends for the month from 9 companies with KMB being the largest payout.
- BEN $26.07
- CSCO $26.21
- GPC $9.91
- JPM $37
- KMB $59.14
- KO $13.20
- O $10
- STAG $6.32
- PARA $24
I added to my positions with my weekly purchases:
- PG 5 shares
- AOS 3 shares
- BEN 3 shares
- UNP 2 shares
Total investment of $1117.83 adding $35.57 in forward dividend payments.
I continue to add to GOOG on a weekly basis and have been averaging down my cost basis. Added another 5 shares during the month at a total cost of $494.58 or $98.91 a share. I’m up to 35 shares and counting.
October was a good month for dividend increases, the following companies announced raises and added an additional $17.88 in dividend payments.
- AOS 7.14% increase
- V 20% increase
- ABBV 5% increase
- XOM 3.4% increase
The year is quickly coming to an end as the holidays approach, hopefully the October moment will carry onto 2023.
